Why I want to read it:

First of all, look at that stunning cover. It's gorgeous! I can't stop staring at it. Or babbling about it, apparently...

Anyways, dystopian novels have a soft spot in my heart, and it makes me very happy when I find a good series (especially since there are so many YA dystopian novels lately...it seems as though everyone has some horrifying - or not so horrifying - alternate future for our world). I have really enjoyed the Legend novels because of the fast pace and intelligent characters. I've just finished reading Prodigy, and it was AMAZING. It moved my opinion of the series from "not a favorite dystopia" to "definitely a favorite dystopia" - it was that good. I really liked learning more about the world that this story takes place in, and I love Day and June even more now that I've seen more of them. I can't wait to see how their story ends!

    Nice pick! I have only read Legend and it was not as good as I expected it to be. But maybe now I will give Prodigy a try :) Thanks for stopping by.

The Supremely Fabulous Fantasy Subgenre Flowchart

Way back during Sci-Fi November , I made a flowchart of Science fiction subgenres so that everyone could find the sub-genre that they liked the most. The idea was that people could find recommendations in genres they didn't normally read, and maybe find a new favorite series or subgenre. Way of Kings Readalong: Wrap-up

So it's finally over. That was an amazing book! Thank you everyone for joining in and making my first readalong so much fun :) I have said over and over again that Brandon Sanderson is a storytelling god. This book makes me believe it even more fiercely - it takes a mastermind to create such intricate worlds and piece together so many character and plot threads. He does such a great job of feeding you just enough answers/revelations to keep you happy, but keeps you hanging by dangling all sorts of questions for you to answer. Not to mention the bombshells he throws in at the end... Having read Mistborn, I really should have been more prepared for disaster and mindblowing moments towards the end of the book. The end was just bombshell after bombshell - some were interesting revelations, and others were shattering.
